When talking to Collider.com in a recent interview, executive producer Andrew Kreisberg spilled the beans on what fans can expect when the two shows come together.
“Both episode 8 of ‘Arrow’ and ‘The Flash’ will be a two-part cross-over. Not to toot our own horns, but I think we’ve designed it in a way that, if you’re not watching ‘The Flash,’ you can just enjoy it from the ‘Arrow’ perspective, where these crazy ‘Flash’ people show up for an episode, and vice versa. We don’t want to be brazen and assume that everybody is watching both shows. Hopefully, they will be,” Kreisberg explains. “But at the same time, if you are watching both shows, you’re really gonna get a fun, cool two-night event.”
Additional crossovers from “Arrow” to “The Flash” are expected in the form of individual “Arrow” characters showing up on the spinoff. Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) appears in the “Flash” premiere, while Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards) is expected in episode 4.
“The Flash” premieres Tuesday, Oct. 7 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW, while “Arrow” Season 3 follows with a premiere on Wednesday, Oct. 8 at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
