Been missing the cast of “The Avengers”? Well, you’re not alone. Fortunately, if you tuned in to the 85th Academy Awards, you got to see Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner and Samuel L. Jackson come together on stage to present the awards for Best Cinematography and Best Visual Effects.
If you’re wondering why Scarlett Johansson wasn’t on stage, it turns out she had obligations that prevented her from making the trip to the West Coast. She is starring in “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof” on Broadway and had a performance today, which explains why she didn’t join her costars on stage. Downey and Jackson’s chemistry made up for her absence, don’t you think?
“The Avengers” ultimately lost its only nomination, Best Visual Effects, to “Life of Pi,” but at least it got a sizable presence. “The Avengers 2” is due out on May 1, 2015.
