The end of “The Carrie Diaries” Season 2 seems more and more final, especially now that co-star Katie Findlay has signed on for Shonda Rhimes’ latest drama pilot for ABC, “How to Get Away.”
The show follows a brilliant criminal defense professor (Viola Davis) and her bright law students as they become involved in a murder plot that may change the course of their lives. According to Deadline, Findlay will play the “edgy, pierced neighbor” to one of the law students.
If “The Carrie Diaries” gets renewed, Findlay will stay on the CW show, as the ABC casting is in second position to her “Carrie” role. But the fact that Findlay is going out for pilots (while practical) doesn’t bode well for the “Carrie Diaries” Season 3 potential.
A final decision won’t be made until May, but “Carrie’s” continued low ratings (despite the fact that it was an excellent season start to finish) make it a prime choice to axe in favor of one of the network’s new pilots.
