Betty White’s off her rocker and on Twitter. The 90-year-old “Hot in Cleveland” actress joined the social networking service on Tuesday (April 10), proclaiming in her first tweet, “Hello Twitter! And they said it would never happen. Oh wait, that was me.”
She has nearly 153,000 followers as of Wednesday afternoon but only three tweets, including a flirty one to “American Idol” host Ryan Seacrest, which reads, “Hey @RyanSeacrest – my new show airs tomorrow and I hear we’re in the same time slot. I’ve always dreamed of sharing a night with you…”
And apparently White took her “Betty White’s Off Their Rockers” show on the Twitter road by punking “Hot in Cleveland” costar Valerie Bertinelli.
“Just spoke with Betty and she is VERY upset!” Bertinelli tweeted Wednesday (April 11). “@BettyMWhite is NOT her. Don’t know how they got verified, but it is not Betty. Please RT!”
Minutes later, she continued with, “Stop the presses! Betty just got a call. An account was opened on her behalf by her people. More to come…”
Shortly after, Bertinelli posted, “@BettyMWhite IS Betty’s twitter account! Now follow me back, b—-! ;-)” and “I think @BettyMWhite pranked me but good! #blushing”
