“The Biggest Loser” is adding a couple of new faces to its training staff for Season 16.
Jennifer Widerstrom and Jessie Pavelka will join returning trainers Bob Harper and Dolvett Quince on the show, NBC announced Monday (June 30). Alison Sweeney will also be back as host.
“We are excited to welcome Jessie and Jen into ‘The Biggest Loser’ family and know they will be valuable players on this life-changing show that continues to inspire millions of people to embrace a healthy lifestyle,” says Paul Telegdy, president of alternative and late night for NBC. “We look forward to viewers meeting them and to revealing more great changes we have in store for the new season.”
Pavelka (a cousin of former “Bachelor” star Jake Pavelka) was the featured trainer on Lifetime’s series “DietTribe” and also starred on U.K. shows “Obese: A Year to Save My life” and “FAT: The Fight of My Life,” in which he helped seriously overweight people chart a new course in their lives.
Widerstrom was “Phoenix” on the 2008 version of “American Gladiators.” She’s also lent her fitness expertise to “Access Hollywood Live” and MSN.
The new trainers step in for long-time “Biggest Loser” fixture Jillian Michaels, who has departed the show.
“The Biggest Loser” premieres Sept. 11 on NBC. The contestants and other information about the season will be revealed closer to the premiere date.
