But at least the couple will be getting together soon. A wedding is expected sooner rather than later, and spoilers indicate that it is going to be an impressive affair.
Does having a real spouse attend a TV wedding make the ceremony more comfortable or more awkward? Fans of “Bones” will soon have an answer to that: Emily Deschanel‘s real husband, David Hornsby (“It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia”), will be at the wedding. He may even be the priest that marries Booth and Brennan after all these years.
E!Online first reported the news, having confirmed that Hornsby will be in the episode and putting that together with a hint from David Boreanaz: “The person who is going to marry us is close to one of the cast members,” he said.
Will Hornsby’s character do the honors or will Aldo, Booth’s former-priest friend be in charge? It’s hard to say, although Aldo (Mather Zickel) will definitely be there that day.
Boreanaz also spilled that a famous singer well-known to the “Bones” world will be providing entertainment at the affair. “Cyndi Lauper is going to come and sing at the wedding,” he teased. Other special guests are possible too, although those people will have to remain a mystery for the moment.
The Maid of Honor
The obvious choice for Brennan’s maid of honor is Angela (Michaela Conlin). But will the best friend want that duty, considering how angry she is at Booth for calling off the engagement?
Apparently, Angela gets over it. TVFanatic talked to the actress and got confirmation that Angela is participating. “Brennan asks her to be the maid of honor in the wedding,” Conlin confirmed.
Naturally, a honeymoon should follow a wedding. Booth and Brennan rarely do things the normal way, but they will get a romantic vacation — with murder. “There is a honeymoon, and of course there is murder,” executive producers Hart Hanson and Stephen Nathan teased on a recent phone call to reporters.
The newlyweds won’t be able to fly under the radar when they arrive either. They decide to visit Buenos Aires, Argentina and find out that Brennan is a bit of a celebrity there: “It turns out that the entire country of Argentina is madly in love with Brennan’s books. And it takes a turn that even Brennan didn’t see coming.”
“Bones” Season 9 premieres Monday, Sept. 16 at 8 p.m. on FOX.
