2016 obamas america Box Office: '2016: Obama's America' tops all new releasesThe box office was fairly quiet for Friday, Aug. 24, but in a surprising turn of events, the conservative documentary titled “2016: Obama’s America” beat out other new releases “Premium Rush” and “The Apparition” to lead all new movies.

However, “The Expendables 2” still remained on top of the box office, earning $3.9 million Friday night, followed by “The Bourne Legacy” at $2.7 million and “ParaNorman” at $2.3 million. “2016” was fourth with $2.26 million.

Kids movies “ParaNormal” and “The Odd Life of Timothy Green” had just over $2 million each on Friday, which pushed both movies past the $20 million-mark, while “The Dark Knight Rises,” which is still playing in over 2600 theaters nationwide, has totaled over $417 million domestically.
