As Hollywood’s theatrical releases shift from summer blockbusters to fall awards season contenders, the box office isn’t booming with big ticket films. But Hugh Jackman and Jake Gyllenhaal made a solid outing with their thriller “Prisoners,” which bowed to a decent $7 million opening day.

Trailing behind it were previous carryovers “Insidious: Chapter 2” and “The Family,” while the new dance flick “Battle of the Year” made a measly $1.5 million. “The Wizard of Oz’s” 3D and IMAX rerelease also didn’t lead to big box office numbers, only bringing in $544,000.
