The facepalm award of the day goes to none other than Brandi Glanville. The “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star made some cringeworthy comments on her podcast, “Brandi Glanville Unfiltered,” when she admitted that she was “super bummed” she was never molested as a child.
You can listen to the interview snippet above. In it, Glanville is speaking with guests Don Jamieson and Jim Florentine, and says to Florentine that they “have something in common.”
“I, too, wanted to be molested as a child and was passed up,” she tells the comedian. “My sister got felt up by a principal, and nothing for me. He didn’t even look at me sideways.”
Florentine asks her, “Did you feel hurt by that?” To which Glanville responds, “Yeah. I mean now, looking back, I’m super bummed. I was thinking, ‘All this, and nothing?’ Super hot, and they passed me up?”
In all likelihood, Glanville was just trying to be funny. Many comedians will say that all is fair in comedy, but Glanville is no comedian. If rape jokes are already a touchy subject, child molestation jokes are a no-no — especially since she is the mother of two children.
We’ve defended Glanville in the past, but these comments were definitely not appropriate. Here’s hoping she comes forward and offers an apology to those not “passed up” by adult sexual predators, just like she did with her recent racist remark.
