CBS comedy “Partners,” from the creators of “Will & Grace,” has cast Brandon Routh as the boyfriend of Michael Urie‘s character. Routh plays a former party boy who has put his drinking days behind him and is now a sober, vegan nurse.
Urie plays Louis, an architect whose marriage-like relationship with his straight best friend is more stable (if rather codependent) than any of the others in his life. His friend, Charlie, has yet to be cast, but “One Tree Hill’s” Sophia Bush will be playing Charlie’s girlfriend, Ali.
Also joining the pilot are Elizabeth Regen, who plays an assistant, and Lucy Davis, whose character is the bookkeeper for Ali’s jewelry store. The castings were first reported by Deadline.
Routh and Bush have worked together before in the underrated comedy “Table for Three,” which recently aired on The CW. Routh played a single guy who invited a couple (Bush and Jesse Bradford) to live with him… only to discover that they were essentially the roommates from hell.
