So far, we’ve only seen a quick glimpse at ABC Family’s “Bunheads,” the new drama from “Gilmore Girls” creator Amy Sherman-Palladino about a Las Vegas dancer who moves to a small town with her new husband and starts teaching at her mother-in-law’s dance school.
We see much more of Sutton Foster (the down-on-her-luck dancer in question, Michelle) and her old life, we meet the adorable, nice-seeming husband who whisks her off to his small town, and we finally get a glimpse of Stacey Oristano (a.k.a. Mindy Collette-Riggins from “Friday Night Lights”).
We also see Michelle inspiring some dance students (“I think being a ballerina is the most wonderful thing in the world,” says a little girl. “You wanna be a bunhead, huh?” replies Michelle), all set to some girl-power music. In short, this show looks like it’ll be every bit of the inspirational, girl-power, dance-tastic show we want it to be.
“Bunheads” premieres June 11 at 9 p.m. on ABC Family.
