Radio DJ and television voiceover artist Casey Kasem is reportedly doing even worse than off than many believed. A lawyer appeared in court recently representing Casey and his wife Jean Kasem in a lawsuit brought against them by a former employer and the lawyer alleges that Kasem is near death.
A former caregiver and housekeeper, Hilda Loza is suing the Kasems for mistreatment. Jean did not appear at the recent hearing, but the wife of her lawyer appeared on her behalf. According to TMZ, the woman told the judge that Jean wants a continuance in the case because that’s how long it will take for “the situation to resolve or end, unfortunately.”
The submitted document in the case also claims that Casey is “terminally ill and unable to leave home.” The case was thrown out because Loza did not properly serve the Kasems with the lawsuit.
The famed “Scooby-Doo” voice actor has been in the news a lot as of late after his children and friends staged a protest outside his Beverly Hills mansion. They say Jean has refused to let any of them see Casey in months and they want to have contact with him before he dies. Casey has advanced stages of Parkinson’s. Kasem’s three grown children from his first marriage have filed for a conservatorship over his healthcare.
