It’s a good day to star in a CBS freshman comedy.
“We’re proud of CBS’ leadership position in comedy and excited to build on it with the back nine pick-ups of these three new comedies,” Nina Tassler, CBS Entertainment president, said in a statement. “These series are creatively distinct, continue to improve each week and are led by strong showrunners, writing and productions staffs, and feature amazingly talented casts.”
“The Crazy Ones” holds the distinction of the season’s most-watched new comedy, with “The Millers” and “Mom” in second and third, respectively.
It hasn’t been all sunny days for CBS comedy, however. Fellow freshman series “We Are Men” failed to gain traction after two weeks on the air and was subsequently pulled from Monday nights, paving the way for the early return of “Mike & Molly.”
