While it seems like just yesterday “winning” emerged into our common lexicon, it was actually one year ago Friday (Feb. 24) that Charlie Sheen’s meltdown really began. And what a year it’s been!
During the past 365 days, Sheen got fired from “Two and a Half Men,” settled a multi-million dollar lawsuit with Warner Bros, landed the new show “Anger Management” on FX and has received a cease and desist letter from WB. But let’s remind everyone how this all began.
Sheen was doing a radio interview when the subject of EP Chuck Lorre’s title card that read “If Charlie Sheen outlives me, I’m gonna be really pissed” came up. Sheen went ballistic saying, “I’m dealing with fools and trolls” and says that Lorre is a “charlatan.” Later that same day Sheen put out an open letter in which he called Lorre a “contaminated little maggot.” This was soon followed by even more bashing that cost Sheen his job.
Ashton Kutcher ultimately signed on to replace Sheen on the highly-rated comedy. The series has since delivered ratings at or slightly above what they were a year ago. But this hasn’t stopped Sheen from mouthing off.
He has since gone after Kutcher, Lorre, Jon Cryer and Warner Bros on numerous occasions. Here’s a collection of our favorite quotes from Sheen’s post-“winning” era. But which one is the best? Let us know what you think.
