It’s hard to imagine anyone teasing the lovely Charlize Theron about anything, but bullying affects more people than we realize. Theron told People that she, like many kids today, was a victim of bullying.
“I wore really nerdy glasses because I was blind as could be and the
boys didn’t like [me],” Theron said. “I didn’t have any boyfriends, but lots of
crushes.” The actress, who spoke to the magazine while doing press for the highly anticipated and critically acclaimed film “Young Adult,” said she wasn’t popular and cried because she couldn’t sit next to the popular girl in school one day.
“I actually got a lot of the mean-girl stuff from the ages of 7 to 12. I was pretty much a mess in primary school,” she said. “But I got that out of my system by the time I got to high school and was more immune to all of that stuff.”
We all go through it. Kudos to Charlize for speaking about her story.
