The New York City club where Chris Brown and Drake got into a bottle-throwing fight early in the morning on Thursday, June 14, W.i.P., was shut down by police on Saturday (June 16) due to numerous code violations.
According to TMZ, the NYPD’s Civil Enforcement Unit had been investigating the club for violations, and the fight gave them cause to thoroughly investigate the issues. None of the violations had to do with the fight.
The manager of W.i.P. was arrested on Friday, again due to issues that had nothing to do with the brawl.
Chris Brown and Drake were both hanging out in the VIP section of the nightclub when a fight broke out, which resulted in shards of broken glass slicing many of the club’s patrons. Brown claims Drake instigated the fight, but Drake says he was leaving the club at the time of the fight.
Although it was rumored that police would arrest Drake at his show in Jones Beach, N.Y. on Saturday night, he hasn’t even been questioned by the cops yet.
