Get out the tissues, everyone’s favorite couple with a history of domestic violence is off, again. Chris Brown has confirmed that he and Rihanna have separated, less than three months after making their first public appearance together at the Grammys.
The couple first split in 2009, after Brown viciously attacked Rihanna the day before the Grammy Awards. He was eventually put on probation for the assault, with community service hours assigned. It’s unclear how many of those hours he actually completed.
While appearing on an Australian radio show, Brown talked about three birthday parties he had scheduled for himself. When asked if Rihanna would be attending any of them, he answers, “Imma do it solo,” adding, “I mean, at the end of the day, shawty doing her own thang, she on the road. It’s always gonna be love. I’m a grown man, just gotta fast forward.” Rihanna was also a no-show at Brown’s latest probation violation hearing.
At this point in his career, while Brown may say he still loves Rihanna, his priorities are pulling him in a different direction. “I’m always gonna love that person. I cant be focused on wife-ing someone that young,” he says, “I need to be the best Chris Brown I can be.”
Who knows what, exactly, the best Chris Brown is like?
