Both Chris Brown and Drake are cooperating with New York police in the investigation of the bar fight heard ’round the world, but Brown’s attorney is claiming he can prove Drake took part in the Thursday-morning brawl.
To recap: Members of Brown’s and Drake’s entourages got into it at a Manhattan club called WIP in the wee hours Thursday (June 14). Bottles went flying, and several people were injured — including Brown, who got a cut on his chin. Drake and Brown were both gone by the time police arrived, and no one was arrested. Drake’s rep released a statement Thursday saying he wasn’t involved and was leaving the club when the fight started.
Brown spoke with NYPD detectives later on Thursday, TMZ reports, and Drake is reportedly cooperating as well. Neither is considered a suspect at the moment, but Brown’s lawyer, Mark Geragos, reportedly gave police evidence showing Drake and rapper Meek Mill, who was with Drake at WIP, instigated the fight.
Other sources, however, tell TMZ that a member of Brown’s crew had been yelling insults at Drake’s table and that may have what sparked the fight.
