“Bachelor” host Chris Harrison and his wife, Gwen Jones, confirmed Thursday (May 3) that they are separating after 18 years of marriage.
“Though we have made this incredibly difficult decision to separate, our love and mutual respect remain, and we look forward to sharing in the lives of our wonderful children,” they tell Us Weekly in a joint statement.
In February 2010, “Bachelor” contestant Rozlyn Papa, who was dismissed from her season for allegedly having an affair with show producer Ryan Callahan, accused Harrison of making a pass at Callahan’s wife.
“You were hitting on his wife in New Zealand. He thought that was crazy,” Papa said on “The Bachelor: The Women Tell All” special.
“I won’t even dignify that with a response,” Harrison said.
After 23 seasons of “The Bachelor” and “The Bachelorette,” only four couples remain together: Trista Rehn and Ryan Sutter, Jason Mesnick and Molly Malaney, Ashley Hebert and J.P. Rosenbaum, and Ben Flajnik and Courtney Robertson.
Brad Womack’s ex Emily Maynard begins her journey as the new “Bachelorette,” when the series premieres May 14 on ABC.
Should Harrison be the next “Bachelor”?
