When Christina Aguilera takes the stage at the American Music Awards on Nov. 18, the censors might want to have those little black bars ready to go — if the nude look from the cover of her new album, “Lotus,” is any indication of what to expect.
“It’s very exciting. It’s definitely going to be a reflection of what Lotus means to me,” Aguilera tells MTV News on Tuesday (Oct. 9) after announcing the AMA nominees. “If you take that album cover and give it a little performance twist, I’ll bring that album cover to life, so it’s going to be really fun.”
On the cover of the album, Aguilera is seen emerging from a lotus flower wearing absolutely nothing. Long white hair a la Daenerys from “Game of Thrones” covers her bare breasts.
So attire for the evening aside, what else can fans expect from the performance?
“I can’t give too much away about the songs, but it’s definitely going to represent the album because the album is very multilayered,” Aguilera says.
The awards will air live on Nov. 18 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
