conrad murray trial getty Conrad Murray trial: Jury deliberations beginJury deliberations have begun in the trial of Dr. Conrad Murray, the doctor charged with involuntary manslaughter of pop star Michael Jackson.

After 23 days of witness testimony, prosecutor David Walgren attempted to hammer home the guilt of Dr. Murray by calling his administration of Propofol on Jackson an “obscene experiment.”

“Even if you accept the defense version of the facts, Conrad Murray is
guilty of involuntary manslaughter. I ask that you return with a
verdict of guilty because Conrad Murray caused the death of Michael
Jackson. He abandoned Michael Jackson. Conrad Murray gave him Propofol.
Justice demands a guilty verdict,” Walgren says.

During his closing arguments, Walgren also trashed defense witness Dr. Paul White.

“What Dr. [Paul] White came in and did was sad for science and sad for truth-seeking,” Walgren says.

Murray’s defense attorney Ed Chernoff countered by reminding jurors that there must be proof to convict, not just emotional sentiment.

“There’s this tremendous desire to paint Dr. Murray as this villain, they want to create the perfect villain and the perfect victim, as if this were a TV show,” Chernoff says.

Chernoff then heaped the blame on Jackson himself saying, “Prosecutors tried to crate a drip
that never existed. They wont tell you what they really want. They want
you to convict Dr. Murray for the actions of Michael Jackson.”

If convicted, Dr. Murray could receive a sentence of up to four years and lose his medical license.
