Our fascination with “Country Strong” continues unabated.
Whether it’s a straight-up showbiz story of loss and redemption or, as our Mikey O’Connell suggested a few days ago, a subversive satire, we’re still kind of intrigued. A lot of that has to do with the idea of Gwyneth Paltrow — she of the occasionally affected half-British accent, lifestyle advice and “Shakespeare in Love” Oscar — playing a hard-drinking Nashville star. And the idea of Blair Waldorf — er, Leighton Meester — as an ambitious, up-and-coming artist.
