Black Friday is so three days ago. It’s all about Cyber Monday today (Nov. 28), the day when retailers take their traditional post-Thanksgiving holiday shopping bargains online.
According to The Los Angeles Times, Cyber Monday sales are expected to reach a record $1.2 billion this year, although that pales in comparison to Black Friday’s projected $52.4 million in sales. The Washington Post reports that online spending is already up 26 percent since Thanksgiving. So where are the deals and how can you best deploy your workday hours getting holiday shopping items crossed off your list?
Here are a few places to start:
Amazon.com: The online mega-retailer will be revealing new deals throughout the week in a bid to keep sales going past Cyber Monday, but they’ve already unveiled some pretty good specials, including a 3-G-enabled 9.7 inch Kindle DX for $259.
Wal-Mart: With a few mouse clicks, you can take advantage of their “Xbox Kinect Family Fun Bundle” — it includes a 250GB Xbox, Kinect sensor, two titles, a wireless controller an 3-month subscription to Xbox live for $319. And bonus: No competing shoppers wielding pepper spray!
Target: Deals include $105 worth of accessories to shoppers who buy the Sony Tablet S.
Best Buy: You know that person on your list who has been totally angling for a four-door Samsung stainless steel refrigerator? Well, now is the time to strike. Best Buy is offering the ice box at a $1,200 discount as part of its Cyber Monday blitz.
Dell: The Texas computer-maker is offering its Inspiron 14R laptop at $399.99 and it’s 2230d laser printer for $99.
Travel deals: The IBT has gathered this list of Cyber Monday airfare and hotel discounts, including an Orbitz offer of 50 percent off for stays at hotels in Orlando, Las Vegas and San Diego.
