Like with Kendra Wilkinson. She and partner Louis Van Amstel have come up with a rumba that tells the story of her marriage to NFL free agent Hank Basket — with Louis taking on the not-so-easy task of playing her six-foot-four husband.
“You’ll have to use your imagination for that one,” Van Amstel told Zap2it after the last elimination show. But Kendra isn’t worried about her partner filling her husband’s shoes. She’s trying to ease her nerves.
“I just hope I get this rumba down and really nail it,” she says. “I feel like I’m getting the nerves out of the way, so that’s been good.”
Those nerves were somewhat soothed by her performance in week 2, when she took the floor for a graceful Quickstep. “I was a lady,” she says. “It was very emotional for me.”
Fans might be surprised with Wilkinson’s many admissions of insecurity on “DWTS.” And when we asked if she thought her journey might be inspiring other women, she agreed… partially.
“I think Kirstie Alley wins with the women,” she says, laughing, “but I win with the tomboy girls and the girls that want to break out of their shell. It feels good.”
