It’s still sad.
With guest judge Julianne Hough looking on, Valerie and Tristan were eliminated after getting the lowest scores for two weeks running. The couple had tied with Bill Nye and Tyne Stecklein (who were eliminated) in week 3 with 16 points. In week 4, the low scores continued, with Valerie and Tristan earning only 18 more points for their Viennese waltz.
All other couples declared safe, the bottom three of week 4 were: Valerie and Tristan, Brant Daugherty and Peta Murgatroyd, and Snooki Pollizzi and Sasha Farber. Snooki and then Brant got their safety calls, leaving Valerie as the one to go home.
Valerie Harper, however, wasn’t ready to let an elimination get her down. “Whatever the challenge, like our song tonight ‘Keep on keepin’ on,’ she exclaimed at the end of the show. “It’s really a great thing to get up and dance!” Considering that Harper was diagnosed with terminal cancer this past spring and still wanted to compete, she knows what she is talking about.
“Dancing with the Stars” airs Mondays at 8 p.m. on ABC.
