After getting into a head-on collision Friday (May 31), former NBA player Daron ‘Mookie’ Blaylock has been charged with second-degree vehicular homicide, driving on a suspended license and failure to maintain his lane.
While driving his SUV in Atlanta, Georgia, Blaylock crossed the center line and collided with a van. 43-year-old Monica Murphy, a passenger in the van, later died, while her husband survived the wreck.
Immediately following the crash, Blaylock was on life support, however ESPN reports that as of Monday (June 3), he is in fair condition. Authorities are still trying to determine the cause of the crash, but say that it does not appear that alcohol was a factor. For his part, Blaylock has told investigators that he blacked out before the accident happened.
