David Beckham is no stranger to shilling skivvies. His barely-clothed body has previously been used to pitch Armani and a slew of other fashion endorsements. But now the soccer star is finally starting a line of his own.
WWD reports that the previously-announced David Beckham Bodywear will be produced and distributed by international retailer H&M. Beckham’s inaugural line will be available in 1,800 stores in early Feb. 2012. (Valentines gift alert!)
Beckham, a new father to baby #4 with wife Victoria, was likely influenced by his better half, who’s had success with her own lines since 2007.
“Over the past year, I’ve been developing my Bodywear range with my team and I’m extremely positive about what we have designed and produced,” Beckham said in a statement. “The final piece in the jigsaw was a retail partner who has the vision and capability to distribute these products globally. In H&M we have found the perfect partner to collaborate with going forward.”
No word yet on whether David himself will strip down for the inevitable ad campaign, but you better believe that would have been non-negotiable if we drew up the contracts.
