Since “The Late Show with David Letterman” was on a break the week that comedian Robin Williams died, it wasn’t until Monday (Aug. 18) that Letterman was able to address the loss.
The friendship between Letterman and Williams goes back nearly 40 years, to when they were both starting their stand-up comedy careers. After telling the audience about their history, which included nearly 50 “Late Show” and “Late Night” appearances by Williams, the host showed clips of some of his favorite moments with the comedian. There’s even some of Letterman’s guest appearance on “Mork and Mindy,” which you may never have seen.
It’s a loving goodbye from one friend to another, and one you should set aside 10 minutes to watch.
