After spending two nights in a Los Angeles area hospital, Demi Moore was released on Thursday, reports E! Online. The 49-year-old actress was rushed to the Sherman Oaks Hospital on Monday (Jan. 23) after suffering an apparent seizure while hosting a birthday party at her home.
While a rep for Moore released a statement saying the star was being treated for “exhaustion,” several reports allege she began to convulse while using nitrous oxide — an inhaled drug that gives users a quick, euphoric high but can also cause blackouts and sudden death.
We may have more details soon. Los Angeles officials plan to release an edited recording of the 911 call that led to Moore’s hospitalization, reports the Los Angeles Times.
Meanwhile, Moore’s soon-to-be-ex husband, Ashton Kutcher, is due to return to Los Angeles on Thursday. The “Two and a Half Men” actor had been in Brazil working on a photo shoot for Colcci’s catalog with supermodel Alessandra Ambrosio.
Neither Moore nor Kutcher have commented on the incident via their medium of choice, Twitter.
