There’s a new “Design Star” on HGTV.
Meg Caswell was named the Season 6 winner in Monday’s (Sept. 12) finale, beating out Karl Sponholtz. The two finalists each shot a pilot episode for their proposed series in the finale, as well as design a showcase room for New York City homeowners.
Meg’s work won out, and her show, “HGTV Great Rooms,” will debut at 6 p.m. ET Saturday. Caswell, a former criminologist, will seek out “design crimes” and help people turn their kitchens and great rooms into more inviting spaces.
“Being chosen as the next HGTV Design Star is the most amazing thing that has ever happened to me,” the 34-year-old Caswell says. “I have won my life’s dream!”
