Nothing is quite so depressing as the sound of thousands of would-be hipsters weeping.
After some initially skeptical reports of a possible sell-out, nearly three months ahead of the show, it appears that Coachella 2011 is sold out.
The three-day Indio, California, music festival only announced this year’s line-up — including Kanye West, Kings of Leon and The Strokes — on Jan. 28. But around 6:00 p.m. ET, on Jan. 26, Twitter began hemorrhaging with reports that the tickets were already gone.
Head on over to the festival’s official page, and you’ll find a cruel, nonchalant confirmation, which simply reads: “Festival passes are no longer available.”
In 2010, tickets were still available the week of the show, so it’s safe to say that a lot of people were caught with their proverbial pants down.
