Just a month ahead of their big premiere, the cast of Disney Channel’s newest original movie “Teen Beach Movie” kicked off the summer by giving back the their community and the environment.
On Saturday (June 15), the full cast teamed up with Heal the Bay for a “Nothin’ But Sand” beach cleanup at Venice Beach in CA. Ross Lynch (“Austin & Ally”), Maia Mitchell (“The Fosters”), Grace Phipps (“The Nine Lives of Chloe King”), Garrett Clayton, Jordan Fisher, Kent Boyd, Alberto Sanchez, Chrissie Fit, Zola Berger-Schmitz, Grecia Ramirez, Mollee Gray and John Deluca were on hand to do their part to clean up the famed L.A.-area beach.
Disney Channel is hoping to strike some “High School Musical” gold with the upcoming film, which tells the story of Brady (Lynch) and McKenzie (Mitchell), surfers who find themselves inside of a classic beach party movie called Wet Side Story. They try to get back to present day, a reality without song and dance, but they inadvertently change the movie’s storyline when the movie’s lead Tanner (Clayton) falls for McKenzie, while Lela (Phipps) falls for Brady.
“Teen Beach Movie” premieres on Disney Channel on Friday, July 19 at 8 p.m. ET. Check out the trailer below:
