For those of you who were actually looking forward to the proposed Celebrity Boxing match between George Zimmerman and DMX, some bad news: It’s not happening.
Damon Feldman, the owner of Celebrity Boxing, took to Twitter on Saturday (Feb. 8) with a series of announcements that ultimately seem to have landed on the side of a canceled event.
Initially, E! Online reports, Feldman tweeted, “The George Zimmerman fight is canceled I’m sorry for anyone I hurt with this but this was a very big opportunity thank you.” This tweet has since been deleted.
Feldman then seemed to have had a change of heart, tweeting, “I’m going to make my final decision and let it be known this Tuesday at press conference this is the biggest controversial event I ever did.” So, the fight’s back on?
Well, within two hours of that, Feldman had another bizarre reversal on the subject, writing, “Done with George Zimmerman if you had a major payday sitting in front of you, I know no one else would walk away like I did ***Next!!” Suffice to say, grammar isn’t Feldman’s strongest suit.
Regardless of the confusing tweets from Feldman, it seems one party on the bill was never even confirmed. DMX spokesman Domenick Nati tells E! News, “Damon Feldman has announced that the George Zimmerman fight is canceled via his Twitter. As previously stated, DMX never agreed to the fight and we thank you for all the support from DMX’s fans.”
As of press time, Feldman hasn’t had another change of heart.
Are you glad the Zimmerman/DMX match won’t be happening?
