Warning: The following contains spoilers about the “Doctor Who” 50th anniversary special, “The Day of the Doctor.”
Well, this is certainly shocking news. Yet another Doctor will make an appearance in the “Doctor Who” 50th anniversary special episode, “The Day of the Doctor.”
HuffPo reveals that Tom Baker, who portrayed the fourth Doctor, will be in the episode. Baker spoke with the website, confirming it. “I am in the special,” he says. “I’m not supposed to tell you that, but I tell you that very willingly and specifically; the BBC told me not to tell anybody but I’m telling you straightaway.”
The BBC chimed in when asked for a comment, saying, “As with William Hartnell’s recent appearance in the last season finale, anything is possible in ‘Doctor Who’. But nothing is certain.”
Baker and his trademark scarf appeared on the series from 1974 to 1981, in 172 total episodes. That ups the count for four different Doctors appearing in the special, so far. Matt Smith and David Tennant will appear as their Doctors, while John Hurt is introduced as the War Doctor.
“The Day of the Doctor” airs November 23 on BBC America.
