If you’re interested in a piece of Hollywood history, Christie’s auction house may have just the thing for you. A collection of the late Elizabeth Taylor’s jewelry, purses, clothes and other prized possessions are going up for sale.
“The Collection of Elizabeth Taylor” will feature numerous items from Taylor’s many marriages including a 33.19-carat, emerald cut diamond ring she received from Richard Burton. The ring is worth an estimated $2.5 million to $3.5 million.
Some other impressive items, which are currently being exhibited at the New York auction house, include a 16th century pear-shaped pearl, which is part of a ruby and diamond necklace. This piece is estimated to be worth $2 – $3 million.
For those looking for more affordable items, there’s a collection of Taylor’s old gowns, jackets, purses and shoes. There’s also an autographed poster from Michael Jackson.
Some of the proceeds of the auction, which is set for Dec. 13-17, will go to The Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation.
Taylor died March 23 at age 79.
