Oscar nominee Amy Adams (“The Fighter”) stopped by “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” on Friday (Feb. 4) and shared how reality shows like “I Survived” and “I Shouldn’t Be Alive” help her keep things in perspective.”
“Here I am going, ‘I survived the red carpet.’ I just feel so stupid,” she says. “This person got like stabbed in the head and I’m just thanking myself for getting through one more red carpet.”
Adams also says she teases her fiance by pretending to take notes during shows like “Snapped” that focus on women who kill. But all of her reality show faves aren’t so dramatic.
“I miss you on ‘Idol,'” she tells Ellen. Even though new judges Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez “are doing a great job. I do miss you. I think you were so kind.”
“I’m glad I don’t have to do that anymore,” Ellen admits. “It’s so hard to tell people that they aren’t good. Every time I tried to think of some funny way — or some kind of way — to say it and I don’t have any of that pressure anymore.”
