Elton John is going to perform at the Emmy Awards for the first time. The annual television event, which already has “Behind The Candelabra” stars Matt Damon and Michael Douglas acting as presenters, will feature a performance by John that pays tribute to Liberace, the subject of that HBO film.
“Behind The Candelabra” is nominated for 15 Emmy Awards, so it’s no wonder that the awards show is giving it such a presence. John’s performance also aligns with his upcoming album “The Diving Board,” which will be released on Sept. 24.
The 65th Primetime Emmy Awards will be hosted by Neil Patrick Harris and will take place on Sept. 22 at 8 p.m. ET.
