Well, the first ever YouTube Music Awards have come and gone, awarding artists and videos who’ve generated the most heat on the steaming video site. So just who took home the (admittedly cheap-looking) hardware on Sunday (Nov. 3)? Check out the categories and their winners below.
YouTube Breakthrough (artists with the biggest growth in views and subscribers): Macklemore & Ryan Lewis
Response of the Year (best fan remix, parody or response video): Lindsey Sterling and Pentatonix “Radioactive”
Innovation of the Year (creative video innovations with most views, likes, shares and comments): DeStorm “See Me Standing”
YouTube Phenomenon (songs that generates the most fan videos): Taylor Swift “I Knew You Were Trouble”
Video of the Year (video with the most fan engagement): Girls Generation “I Got A Boy”
Artist of the Year (most watched, shared, liked and subscribed-to artists): Eminem
Nominations were determined by YouTube using data from the last 12 months, however winners were chosen through fan voting.
