“Modern Family” made Emmy history Monday (Aug.25) by winning the best comedy category for the fifth time in a row at the 66th Emmy Awards. Now, while “Modern Family” is a quality show, we are thinking we need to be sending Emmy voters some Netflix subscriptions for the holidays, since they have clearly not taken a close enough look at “Orange Is The New Black.”
Why should the prison dramedy have taken home the award, you ask? There are a ton of reasons, but one of the main ones is due to its originality. There is nothing that is as altogether groundbreaking, funny and culturally relevant to today’s time as “OITNB.” So here’s hoping they take home the big win next year.
“Modern Family” can’t possibly win six years in a row, right?
