A Syfy rep confirms to Zap2it that the network has ordered a six-episode sixth season to the series, and, beyond that, its future is optimistically uncertain.
“Bruce Miller and Jaime Paglia have brought a creative vitality to ‘Eureka’ that has kept it fresh and inventive,” says Syfy president of original content Mark Stern, referring to the co-creators. “Although we do not have a commitment beyond six episodes for the sixth season, we are hopeful that this will not be the end of the franchise.”
Previously, Deadline reported
the series, about the quiet Oregon town populated almost entirely
by geniuses and scientists, would end after the additional order.
Currently airing its fourth season, “Eureka” is already filming the
13-episode Season 5, with production on Season 6 expected to begin this fall.
