When Ernesto Arguello signed on for the Eva Longoria-produced reality show “Ready For Love,” he likely didn’t expect to be ready for love with her. The “Desperate Housewives” star was the woman who selected Arguello to be one of the short-lived NBC series’ eligible bachelors, and though his relationship with his “Ready For Love” pick Shandi Finnessey didn’t last through 2012, it seems like he and Longoria are going strong.
“I think that’s why our relationship is so special — we truly started as friends,” Longoria tells People of their newfound love.
Arguello is a Miami-based entrepreneur and philanthropist who was born in Honduras. He and Longoria have similar philanthropic interests which reportedly was a big part of what drew them together. The other element, according to Longoria? The media rumors that she and Arguello were an item back when “Ready For Love” premiered in the spring, even though they weren’t a couple at the time.
“I guess we have the press to thank for pushing us to see something we didn’t see!” she jokes.
