It had to do with Facebook widgets, used widely on on the internet to share links on your timeline.
In a statement, Facebook explained the error, “For a short period of time, there was a bug that redirected people from third party sites integrated with Facebook to The issue was quickly resolved.” Not even an apology? No “sorry for breaking the internet, you guys?”
