TNT will keep one of the stalwarts of its summer schedule in place for another year.
The cable channel has renewed the alien-invasion drama “Falling Skies” for a fourth season. The show is currently at the halfway point of Season 3 and has posted solid ratings thus far, averaging 5.8 million people in Live +7 ratings.
It’s also the top-rated scripted series on basic cable this summer among adults 18-49 and 25-54, TNT says.
Season 3 has seen Tom Mason (Noah Wyle) and the human resistance gain an unexpected ally in another alien race, the Volm, who have been battling the Espheni for hundreds of years. It hasn’t yet been revealed if the Volm have any ulterior motives in helping the human resistance battle the occupying aliens.
TNT has ordered 10 episodes for Season 4 of “Falling Skies” to air in the summer of 2014.
