“Fashion Star” was back Friday night (March 8), with a new host in Louise Roe, but the same great, affordable fashions that dominated Season 1.
Express made offers to just one designer — Amber Perley‘s mod flare dress in orange and in chalk, with Express making her the second-highest offer of the night at $175,000. It’s above, right, and retails at Express for $69.90.
Saks purchased Sylvia Arguello‘s coat dress, which is selling for $280, Daniel Silverstein‘s cocktail dress at $240 and Hunter Bell‘s midi dress at $225. Bell’s dress sparked a bidding war between Saks and Express at offers of $200,000, with Bell getting to choose between the two. She went with Saks, find all the Saks looks here.
Macy’s went for Brandon Scott‘s convertible hoodie, which sells for $129, Priscilla Barroso‘s moonlight romper (above, left), which retails at $99, and Johana Hernandez‘s tulip dress, which sells for $109. Find the Macy’s fashions here.
Cassandra Hobbins, Bret Young, Tori Nichel, Garrett Gerson & JesseRay Vasquez and David Appel were the five designers that did not get any offers. The mentors chose Garrett & Jesse and Bret Young on the hot seat for elimination, with Young being the first eliminee.
