Season 2 of NBC’s “Fashion Star” came to an end on Friday night, with finalists Hunter Bell, Cassandra Hobbins and Daniel Silverstein challenged to create a capsule collection for Macy’s, Saks Fifth Avenue and Express.
In the end, Bell took the title and her winning capsule collections will be carried online at each store, as well as in 50 Macy’s locations and 15 Express locations nationwide. After sitting down with the buyers, Caprice Willard, Terron Schaefer and Erika DeSalvatore, Bell chose to focus Express, tailoring her clothes to fit their edgier aesthetic. Her collections were sold to the buyers for a grand prize total of $3 million.
While Bell walked away a winner, the fate of the series itself looks much less rosier. Earning a second season after middling ratings, “Fashion Star” was moved to Fridays, where it didn’t exactly light any fires. NBC is set to reveal their 2013-14 line-up Sunday.
