That eerie silence you hear is the sound of the American entrepreneurial spirit dying.
Flavor Flav, the Public Enemy rapper and unlikely TV bachelor, has abandoned his Clinton, Iowa, restaurant (Flav’s Fried Chicken) after less than four months in business, citing mismanagement on the part of his business partner.
TMZ reports Flav pulled out of his licensing agreement with Nick Cimino over the weekend of April 23.
Flav had this to say on the failure of FFC: “Let me be straight up with you, I went up inside there on April 2 and I found potato salad that expired on February 28. And it’s then when I realized I can’t do business with this man and I really hope no one ate those potatoes.”
No one can ever say he isn’t a man with standards.
Lovers of non-expired potato salad, giant clocks and unappetizing kitsch should find comfort in knowing this won’t be Flav’s only foray into the culinary world. “Flavor Flav’s House Of Flavor” is set to open at the Riviera Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas May 30.
