The folks at “Murder Police” have an important homicide to solve — their own.
The animated series, originally picked up by FOX for 13 episodes, won’t air on the network after all, TV Guide reports. Instead, producer 20th Century Fox TV aims to shop the series around to cable networks.
Insiders tells TV Guide that FOX execs weren’t happy with early cuts of the show, resulting in the show losing its spot on the net’s 2013-14 schedule. As such, the studio will begin the hunt for a new precinct for the law enforcement-skewering series once more complete episodes are available to screen for the potential buyers.
“Murder Police” is built around an inept detective and his co-workers. Phil Lamarr (“Futurama”) voices undercover cop Donel, while Jane Lynch (“Glee”) plays Justice, a detective and working mother. Will Sasso (“MadTV”), Chi McBride (“Pushing Daisies”), Pater Atencio (“Key and Peele”), Justina Machado (“Welcome to the Family”) and Jason Ruiz (who co-created with “Family Guy” exec David A. Goodman) also star.
