Fox News Channel anchor Gregg Jarrett has been arrested in the Minneapolis-St. Paul airport, reports The Wrap.
Jarrett allegedly refused to follow police orders and was taken to the Hennepin County Jail for obstructing the legal process, where he was charged and held on $300 bail. The incident began when police were called to the airport’s Northern Lights Grill about an intoxicated man. When they arrived, Jarrett reportedly acted belligerently and was subsequently arrested, reports local outlet KARE 11.
Jarrett has since been released from jail and has a court appearance scheduled for June 6.
This comes on the heels of Jarrett requesting time off from Fox News for “personal reasons,” according to Media Bistro. He’s been the weekend anchor for FNC since 2002, after previously working for MSNBC and Court TV.
UPDATE: Fox News has issued a statement to Zap2it: ““We were made aware late last night that Gregg Jarrett was arrested in
Minneapolis yesterday and charged with a misdemeanor. He is dealing with
serious personal issues at this time. A date at which Gregg might
return to air has yet to be determined.”
