This Sunday, FOX planned to air a highly anticipated crossover of their animated comedies “Family Guy,” “American Dad,” and “The Cleveland Show.” The event, dubbed “Animation Domination” has been widely promoted, but has been canceled, as first reported by the Hollywood Reporter.
In the crossover, the characters of all three shows were impacted by a hurricane. FOX decided that the content wasn’t appropriate given the deadly storms that have led to lost lives and homes in the southern U.S. this week. Over 300 people have been confirmed dead due to tornado touchdowns.
Seth MacFarlane, the creator of the shows, was consulted about their decision to hold off. The episodes were written well over a year ago. Repeats will air in their stead; there is no word yet on whether the episodes will be aired at a later date or included on DVD releases.
