“The Fresh Prince of Bel Air” has been off our TVs for 15 years now, but apparently some of the emotional wounds incurred on set by Janet Hubert, who played Aunt Vivian before the role was recast halfway through the show’s run, are still fresh.
Hubert says that the buzzed-about “Fresh Prince” reunion making the Internet rounds after several cast members were photographed together at a charity event would never actually happen because she and Smith do not get along.
Actually, her language was a little harsher than that. She tells TMZ, “There will never be a reunion … as I will never do anything with an a–hole like Will Smith. He is still an egomaniac and has not grown up. This constant reunion thing will never ever happen in my lifetime unless there is an apology, which he doesn’t know the word.”
Hubert has said in the past that she thinks Smith is the reason why she left the show (although contract disputes were the official reason), so we don’t see this feud being resolved any time soon. Still, 18 years is a long time to forgive and forget. Do you think it’s too long for Hubert to have held such a grudge against Smith?
